Good News!

Today Matt and I received amazing news! My high-risk pregnancy is no longer at risk! My insides look normal! I can go back to doing light exercise, running errands and being me! Also, little boy is growing, growing. He weighs 1lbs 6 oz already! I can't believe it. In today's ultrasound he looked so big, I can't imagine 5 or 6 more pounds added to it, however, they will be welcomed with open arms.

I'm just so thankful my baby is safe.

We're having a...

We are so excited to announce our news! Finally being able to share the gender has propelled us even further into the realization that THIS IS HAPPENING!

We've started decorating the baby room and planning out where things are to go. Envisioning that this is the space our child will learn to know as theirs makes it all the more important to us. Matt recently refurbished the same rocking chair I was rocked in as a babe and as I sat in it the other day, I couldn't help but get a little teary eyed knowing the same comforting chair that rocked me to sleep will be the same for our boy. Some things are totally worth saving.

Distraction

Call it nesting, call it me, but the bug is ITCHING.

I've always loved interior design. In fact, it's what I originally set out to do with my self (2 degree changes later, things...evolved). I've never lost the passion, it just comes and goes according to what my bank account allows.

Insert pregnancy and the opportunity to decorate a baby room. Holy passion re-ignition. Last night I laid in bed awake (for what seemed like hours)with my brain firing right and left and wheels churning of the different things I could do with a 4- walled blank canvas.

Yesterday I was blown away by the designs and home of this family. What a colorfully elegant and creative home! The wife has a blog called Peppermint Bliss. It's worth checking out. I'd love to pick her brain and go shopping with her. Or, she could just come in and re-do my home. Yes, please come give it a face-lift?

When my creative self is on fire, I can't help but wonder what the hell I'm doing sitting behind a desk. I've got too many ideas to share to be pushing papers.

Needless to say, my creative brain has distracted my "every day at work" brain. I just want to get lost in the beautiful ideas of new interior design and color and NOT file a new "case."

Birthday

Saturday was Matt's birthday. I had all sorts of plans and when I had to go into the hospital a second time last weekend, I knew it wasn't going to go as planned. Honestly, I shouldn't have been too surprised. I  couldn't help but be disappointed. My husband LOVES birthdays. The fact that this is his 30th, means that it's extra special. I wanted to go all out! A weekend of fun. His 30th is on a Saturday for goodness sakes.

The reality is that Matt loved his special day. Event though I'm limited in what I can physically do, I can accomplish anything. I may have to modify my original plan, and reach out to others for help (I have the hardest time with that) but everything truly does work out.
